Worktops

Granite (Standard)

Granite remains one of the most affordable countertop materials, available in a huge array of colours and patterns. Being a natural material no two slabs are the same and the more striking grained patterns need to be seen to be appreciated.

A highly durable natural material that offers scratch stain and heat resistance. Flecked finishes may be more cost-effective than grained patterns.

Pricing varies with supplier and availability with some stock items providing more cost-effective options. Prices and options will be discussed during the initial design phase.

Stainless Steel (Option)

Many outdoor appliances are made using stainless steel enabling mechanical elements such as countertops to compliment the inbuilt features.

Often used to create a more industrial or contemporary finish and visually striking when combined with other materials to contrast and compliment.

Stainless steel is highly resistant to corrosion but not impervious and requires care to prevent rust.

The use of higher grade 316 is recommended when the material is uncoated and unprotected.

Dekton (Option)

Available in over 40 patterns Dekton delivers incredibly realistic patterns offering the detail and drama of materials such as marble and quartz.

The material is resistant to heat, abrasion, impact, chemical and UV making it ideally suited for use within outdoor kitchens and can be employed either as a counter material or as cladding and doors.

Dekton is an ideal solution for those looking for a visually striking material that provides the intrigue of a natural material with the peace of mind afforded by its man-made nature and 25-year material warranty. There are 7 price tiers subject to pattern and material thickness.

Neolith (Option)

A highly durable man-made “sintered” material made from quartz, feldspar, glass and silica. It is designed to create a wide range of stunning patterns which are surface printed. Being weatherproof, Heatproof, scratchproof, UV resistant and chemical resistant makes this a great counter for an outdoor kitchen.

Made in a way that is similar to ceramic but using raw materials that are more refined and fired for 4 times as long as traditional ceramics make this a far more durable material ideally suited to this application.

Available in a huge array of styles and pattern types with over 50 patterns with some options available in multiple finishes of which there are 6 to choose from. Neolith enjoys a 25-year material warranty.

Corian (Option)

Is a Man-Made solid surface created by blending acrylic polymers and minerals which are then moulded into sheets to create a wide array of stunning flecked and grained patterns.

Sheets can be joined to create a seamless finish appearance on larger countertops subject to the individual material choice.

Whilst being durable all solid surface materials must not be subjected to direct heat sources such as pans.

Corian is a great option when a lighter counter material is desirable. Corian offers a 10-year material warranty.

Sensa Coating (Option)

Cosentino has created a unique coating that is pressure impregnated into natural materials to protect them from staining.

Some breath-taking natural stones can now be used outdoors thanks to this treatment.

Wood is an incredibly versatile material, offering a choice of colours and textures while ensuring your CENA kitchen blends seamlessly with the natural elements of your garden.

CENA sources premium English oak, Cedar, Sapele and Iroko (a popular replacement for ever-scarcer teak) to craft outdoor kitchens for a myriad of tastes.

Wood is a great option for integrating an outdoor kitchen into more classical garden designs, but does require maintenance and will change colour as it ages and weathers. If you are considering timber our team can talk you through the pros and cons.

APPLIANCES

Gas Grill

A gas grill is the centrepiece of most outdoor kitchens and its fast heat-up time and its ease of use, as well as cleaning, ensure you use your kitchen as frequently as your schedule allows.

We work with a range of manufacturers enabling plenty of flexibility in size, features and of course price. If you have something particular in mind were can source it for you or one of our design consultants will make a recommendation based on your intended use.

Side Burner

A side burner is a great addition if you want to elevate your outdoor cooking from simply using a grill.

The side burner enables you to bring your pans outside and produce sauces and accompaniments directly from your outdoor cooking area without the need to return to the house.

If you are a keen cook, or want maximum versatility in your kitchen a side burner is a must.

Kamado Grill

For some dishes there is just no substitute for cooking over an open flame and a kamado grill gives you the option to grill, roast, smoke and even bake.

Fans of slow-cooked meats like brisket, or those wanting to add real smoke flavour to their cooking love the addition of a kamado grill to their kitchen.

We recommend pairing it with a gas grill where space an budget allow to give maximum flexibility and usability.

Pizza Oven

Pizza ovens are a firm family favourite, but let's face it, who doesn't love a pizza from a proper pizza oven!

We have a range of ovens available from simple portable options to full professional-grade ovens that can cater for multiple pizzas being cooked simultaneously.

We have both gas and wood-fired options and can guide you through the options to ensure you make the right choice for the way you will use it.

Fridge

In many ways, the difference between an outdoor barbeque area and an outdoor kitchen is the fridge. Our built-in stainless steel or glass-fronted options are a feature of almost every kitchen we build.

Our outdoor certified weatherproof fridges give you the ability not just to serve cold drinks, but to store your sauces and other cooking essentials. This enables you to walk outside and get cooking with none of the hassles of bringing things outside.

Teppan Hot Plate

Cooking on the grills, hotplates and teppanyakis is becoming increasingly popular.

With even faster heat-up times and much easier cleaning than even a gas grill, they also offer plenty of sizzle and theatre for your guests.

They have the added benefit of no gaps for smaller items to fall through and produce healthy and great tasting meals with minimal requirement for oil.

A great option for those that like to cook a lot of fish, vegetables and even fruits.

Features

Shelter

A shelter or garden building can be a great way to increase the versatility of your kitchen and create a connection to your house or outbuildings that will enable you to use your kitchen all year round.

We can provide a number of solutions and are also happy to work with your architect or garden designer to ensure the design of your kitchen works well within the environment it is placed and how you will be using it.

Lighting

Lighting is a key design component in any piece of architecture and a kitchen is no different. It can change not just the usability of the space, but also its look and feel, as well as rooting it within your overall garden design.

We can provide everything from simple functional lighting to fully integrating it into your design concept with devices like back-lit semi-transparent stone for backdrops or cladding.

Bar Counters

Adding bars and counters to your design can ensure that your kitchen is an enjoyable and sociable place in which to cook. Connecting you to your guests and giving them a grandstand view of the action.

We can integrate counters into your design in a number of ways, from side returns to worktop extensions and even tiered solutions sitting above the main counter in our full range of materials.

Side Returns

Worktop space is just as important outside as it is in and a side return is a great way to add additional space when you don't have the space for a full additional section to your kitchen.

We can create these in different materials and heights if required to add colour and texture, as well as versatility to your design, or simply blend them in.

Hot Water

The majority of outdoor kitchens in the market are cold water only, which is fine for a hand wash or filling an ice bucket, but not so great for cleaning down a dirty grill after you finish cooking.

Our fully integrated hot water systems bring the convenience of on-demand hot water to your kitchen and remove the need to bring dirty cooking implements back into the house.
